  • Letter or Legal size paper

  • Black or Blue ink only

  • No highlighting

  • 1” margin on both sides and bottom

  • 3” top margin on 1st page; 1½” top margin on remaining pages


Plats                                                                                                    $0.10 per square inch/$40.00 minimum


UCC Recording Fees                                                                        $12.00 plus $4.00 for each name indexed

                                                                                                                 (Debtor, Secured Party, and Property Owner)


Copies of documents                                                                       $2.00 per page


Certification                                                                                      $1.00 per document


Transfer Fee & Conveyance Tax                                                   $4.00 per $1,000 purchase price

  • In addition, an auditor’s parcel transfer tax fee of fifty cents ($0.50) per parcel number is payable with transfers

  • Separate check for auditor’s transfer fees and tax; payable to the Brown County Auditor

  • Conveyance/Exemption form required with transfers

  • Parcel identification numbers are required all deeds

Legal descriptions are required with all documents presented for recording

Blanket assignments and satisfactions are not accepted

In subsequent related documents, include reference to all previously recorded documents

All affidavits require Current Owner (ORC 5301.252)

Documents notarized in Ohio require a “Prepared By” statement
