Who We Are
Originally part of the Northwest Territory, Brown County was created from parts of Adams and Clermont counties on March 1, 1818.
The Brown County Recorder’s Office is here to assist you in land records requests. The Recorder is responsible for preserving and protecting the county’s land records and related documents.
The purpose of the County Recorder is to keep and maintain land records that are current, legible, and easily accessible. An important facet of the Recorder’s work is to correctly index each document to make sure it can be simply located; this helps to safeguard interest in land ownership and mortgage history.
We are here to provide the public with complete and accurate records that are easily assessable using the most affordable means.
This office provides an online search of our public records at County Fusion Search or by visiting our office located at 800 Mt. Orab Pike in Georgetown, Ohio.
